Meet the founder
From Calcutta to Chicago.
Namrata grew up in a Marwari family in Calcutta, where jewelry was woven into everyday life, worn to weddings, to Diwali, exchanged between families on the occasions that mattered. When she moved to Chicago, the Indian jewelry she grew up around wasn't here, not with the provenance she wanted. So she went looking. Ten years and two dozen trusted workshops across India later, every piece Studio 3311 sells is hand-chosen by her, in person.

Kundan
Stones set in gold, a four-hundred-year-old technique.
Foil-backed uncut gemstones held in place with layers of pure gold pressed by hand around each stone. The technique is older than most countries. Every kundan piece on our site is made by master karigars we have worked with for years, in workshops we visit in person.

In their words
Real words from real customers
The kundan studs I ordered for my sister-in-law's sangeet arrived in the most beautiful hand-wrapped box. She cried. I cried. Eight months later she still wears them on Fridays.
I've been looking for a real polki set in the US for two years, not plated, not costume. Studio 3311 is the first place where I actually believed the people selling it knew what they were talking about. Mine was photographed the day it shipped; the weight, the color, everything was exactly as promised.
Bought the oxidized silver anklets on a whim in August. Have worn them nearly every day since. My mother keeps asking where they're from, highest compliment I know how to give.
